Dr. Tony Finelli is a urologic oncologist and surgeon investigator at UHN. He holds the Anna-Liisa Farquharson Chair in Kidney cancer research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and has built a program focused on correlative studies improving our understanding of the natural history of localized kidney cancer. He is also actively involved in clinical trials and health services research. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has peer-reviewed funding for his research from CIHR, US Department of Defense, Canadian Cancer Society and Movember.
Dr. Finelli’s clinical practice focuses on the management of prostate and kidney cancer with minimally invasive and robotic techniques. He has performed live surgery for instructional purposes in more than 10 countries. Dr Finelli is recognized internationally for robotic surgery and his contributions to the growing body of literature regarding the management of small renal masses.
