iTind for BPH
Reshape. Recharge. Return to Life.
A temporary, removable implant for lasting relief – iTind reshapes the prostate and improves urinary flow without cutting, heating, or leaving a permanent implant.
iTind (Temporarily Implanted Nitinol Device) is a temporary transurethral implant that gradually reshapes the prostate over several days. Unlike other treatments, it gently expands the tissue from within. Once the prostatic urethral opening is widened, the device is removed, providing lasting relief without surgery, heat, or permanent implants.
BPH & Treatment Options
BPH can be disruptive, causing frequent nighttime trips to the bathroom, sudden urgency, and difficulty emptying the bladder. Many men put off treatment because they worry about side effects from medication or the risks of traditional types of invasive surgery.
iTind offers a minimally invasive alternative. A small, flexible device is placed in the prostate, gradually reshaping the tissue to improve urine flow. The implant stays in place for 5 to 7 days before being removed, leaving behind a wider urinary passage for lasting relief.

The Process
1. Consultation & Evaluation
We assess your symptoms and prostate anatomy to determine if iTind is the right option for you.
2. The Procedure
Under local anesthesia with or without IV sedation, the iTind device is placed in the urethra. The temporary, three-pronged device gradually expands over several days, applying gentle pressure to reshape the prostate tissue and improve urine flow.
3. Device Removal
After 5 to 7 days, the device is removed, leaving behind a reshaped urethra which results in an improved urinary function.
4. Recovery & Follow-Up
Most patients experience symptom relief immediately after device removal, with continued improvement over the following 6 to 12 weeks. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor progress.
BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) is a common condition in men over 50 where the prostate enlarges and obstructs urine flow, causing symptoms like increased nocturia (night-time urination), weak stream, urgency, and difficulty emptying the bladder.
iTind is best for men with mild to moderate BPH who want a reversible, non-surgical treatment that avoids cutting, heat, or permanent implants. It’s ideal for those looking for symptom relief without the side effects of medications or the risks of traditional types of invasive surgery.
iTind is a one-time, minimally invasive outpatient procedure. The temporary device remains in place for 5-7 days, after which it is removed, leaving behind a more open urinary channel for improved flow.
After the removal of the iTind device, you may experience increased frequency and/or urgency of urination while the prostate tissue is healing. These effects typically do not last more than several weeks and self-resolve.
iTind does not impact urinary continence. The device mechanically reshapes the prostate tissue without interfering with the continence mechanism.
Clinical studies show that 95% of men retain erectile function and normal ejaculation after the iTind treatment. The procedure does not involve cutting or heat, reducing the risk of complications.
Some patients experience mild to moderate discomfort while the device is in place, but it is generally manageable with mild medication if needed. Most men tolerate the procedure well, and discomfort resolves once the device is removed.
iTind is best suited for men with mild to moderate BPH symptoms and prostate sizes under 60cc. It may not be appropriate for those with significantly enlarged prostates, a prominent median lobe, or a history of urinary retention.
In these cases, a thermal treatment like Rezum Therapy may be more effective, especially when longer-lasting tissue reduction is needed. Our team will assess your anatomy and symptoms to recommend the most appropriate option.
